YouTube has introduced ‘Music Assistant’ – an AI powered tool designed to assist creators generate instrument-backed and copyright-free background tracks for their videos. The move is expected to simplify the overall process of sourcing music for creators so they can devote more time storytelling.
The tool, presently available to US-based users with access to the Creator Music marketplace, will gradually roll out worldwide. It is integrated within the creator dashboard as a new feature called “Music Assistant”.
Users need to click the ‘Create’ button and in the blank text field, enter their prompts, describing the type of music they want. To make things easier, a few suggested prompts are also offered below the text field. Once the custom music is generated, users can use them in their videos.
Other than being time-saving, the tool’s generated music is completely free to use, thereby removing copyright concerns. YouTube is the world’s second largest search engine, with 2 billion+ monthly logged-in users.
